Glass lined hot water storage tanks require sacrificial magnesium anode corrosion protection. These anodes need to be checked once a year and replaced if they are corroded. Tanks with 42" or bigger outside diameter require 12" x 16" inspection opening or manway with gasket. Level gauges are also often used on non-bladder hydro-pneumatic and boiler expansion tanks. Pressure safety and pressure transmitter valve are a must for a pressure vessel. Flow meters are sometimes also a necessary accessory for a storage tank.
